Just wanted to share DIY Style with you all. They have some great vodcasts that you are sure to enjoy. I viewed one that shows you how easy it is to make panties! Never knew they could be so easy and cheap to make.
“DIY Style is a biweekly vodcast (video podcast), an online community, and sew much more. We create an upbeat, fashion-forward show for a fresh audience of sewers and fashion-minded young women. Each vodcast is a magazine-format program featuring segments on sewing, design, crafting, and all things DIY. Each vodcast is ready to watch whenever, wherever on an iPod/media player or a computer.”

We know, we know - the mag contains lots of info so we have added thumbnails of each section so you can quickly find the right section. The thumbnails will be on the main page of DIY City Mag - at the bottom. Find the section and simply click which will bring you to thumbnails of all pages in that section - you can scroll over the first one and then click enter which then you will be able to start at the front of that section.
Don’t forget the search button at the bottom of each page - this will allow you to simply type in a name or for example: jewelry and then it will bring that item up.

This is for all you indie designers out there - well if you happen to be in NYC - July 15-16. We at DIY City Mag can’t wait to see more from Jack + Bill.
“Jack + Bill is a public relations agency launching in July 2008 dedicated to identifying, branding and publicizing emerging fashion talent. Taking its moniker from the first names of Porter Novelli’s entrepreneurial founders, Jack Porter and Bill Novelli, the agency is the brainchild of a team of young Porter Novelli professionals passionate about culture, art and style in New York and helping emerging city talent get their brands off of the ground.
The team brings together experience in fashion media relations, blogging, microblogging, viral video creation, social network branding, event planning, fashion photography, runway show staffing and showroom coordination to serve up-and-coming clients and brands.
Jack + Bill will celebrate its launch by providing free branding, buzz building, media relations and viral marketing services to a young model, stylist, women’s apparel designer and jewelry designer from mid-July to early September 2008. Jack + Bill will host an open “casting call” on July 15 and 16 at Sandbox Studios (250 Hudson Street, New York City) to select its clients. For more information, visit www.jackandbillpr.com.”

Smashing Darling just released version 2 of their website. So now you get more smashing choices than before. I love the new look - black and white so classic - very edgy. They have added some new filters to make it easy to find what you are looking for.
I love the new area called “Chic Boutique” - in this area it is rated by how often designers add new photos and if the photos are nice and big. It encourages the best of the best.
Check it out and let them know what you think about their new look and site!
